Although Sphaeralcea grossulariifolia is much larger than S. coccinea the petals of their flowers are about the same size, 11-22 millimeters.  The flowers of S. leptophylla and S. parvifolia are about 8-13 millimeters .

Even in seed, the plant retains its hairiness.
